How we work

Editorial policy

A clinic writing about its own field has a built-in bias. These are the rules we apply to every page so that the library is still worth using.

Short answer

Every study we summarise links to its PubMed record, and each PubMed ID is checked against the National Library of Medicine's database before publication. Numbers are quoted exactly as the source reports them, with their limits. Entry and visa information comes only from official government websites and carries the date we checked it. Currency figures use dated European Central Bank reference rates. Medical pages are reviewed by our implant surgeon, and mistakes are corrected openly.

Who we write for

Adults, many of them over 45, who are researching full-mouth implant treatment and may travel to Türkiye for it, from Ireland, North America, Australia and New Zealand, the rest of Europe, the Gulf and the UK. Many read carefully and want to see the source. We write in plain English with British spelling, explain each technical term the first time it appears (and in the glossary), and keep one topic per page.

How studies are chosen

For each question we look first for systematic reviews and meta-analyses, then for large or long-running cohort studies and randomised trials, then for consensus statements from recognised workshops. We prefer studies of full-arch treatment in people with no teeth in that jaw, since that is what this site is about. We include studies whose findings are inconvenient for clinics, such as the Swedish population data on gum and bone problems around implants. Single case reports and conference abstracts are not used as evidence.

How studies are summarised

  • Every figure is copied from the abstract or the paper and says what it measured: implant survival, bridge survival, success, or a complication rate, at a stated time.
  • Each summary in the evidence library lists the design, size and follow-up, what the study found, what it may mean for a reader and its main limits.
  • We do not combine numbers from different studies into new figures of our own. Charts on the data pages show each study's own result side by side, labelled with its source.
  • Where the evidence is thin or conflicting, we say so in words.

How citations are verified

Before publication, every PubMed ID on the site is checked automatically against the US National Library of Medicine's database using its official E-utilities service. The check confirms that each ID exists and that the title and year match our citation. Any mismatch is fixed before publication. Other links are opened and read to confirm that the page says what we cite it for.

Entry rules, visas and official information

Information about entering Türkiye, passports, visas and travel advice is taken only from official government sources: the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its e-Visa site, and the foreign ministries or travel advice services of the reader's home country. Each travel guide shows the date we last checked. These rules change, so always confirm on the official page before you book.

Prices and currencies

Prices are Precious Dental's own, set in pounds sterling. Euro and other currency figures are converted at the European Central Bank's euro reference rates for a stated date (currently 23 October 2026), using the published euro rates to derive the pound-to-currency rate, then rounded. They are labelled as approximate. The date of the rate in use is always shown next to the figures.

Medical review

Pages with medical content are reviewed by Dt. Hüseyin Yavuz Özbek, Dentist — Implant Surgery & Prosthetics (Turkish Dental Association no. 49105), who checks for errors, overstatement and risks made to sound smaller than they are. The review date is shown near the top of each page. See the editorial team.

Opinion and the publisher's interest

We think Precious Dental is a good place for full-mouth treatment and say so on labelled pages, mainly why Precious Dental. The evidence, data, anatomy and materials pages are written to hold true at any clinic. We do not rank or criticise other clinics. The commercial side is set out in the advertising disclosure.

AI tools and images

AI tools are used to help draft and check text. Every page is edited by people at Precious Dental, every source is checked by a person, and medical content is reviewed by our surgeon. AI-generated images on this site are people-free illustrations of anatomy, implants, materials or travel, labelled where they appear and checked for obvious anatomical errors. We never use AI to create patients, smiles, results or before-and-after images. Patient photos are real Precious Dental patients who gave written consent.

No invented people or stories

We do not publish testimonials, invented authors or patient stories. Pages are signed by the Precious Dental editorial team.

Updates and corrections

We review pages when a source is updated, a price or rate changes, an official entry rule changes, or a reader reports a problem. Material corrections are dated and logged on our corrections page.

Common questions

Do you only include studies that make implants look good?

No. We aim to include the large reviews and well-known cohort studies on a question whatever they found, including high complication rates. If you know of an important study we have left out, tell us through our corrections page.

Why do you link to PubMed rather than the journal?

PubMed is free, stable and run by the US National Library of Medicine. Every record shows the abstract and usually links to the full text, which is sometimes free.

Is AI used to write the pages?

AI tools help with drafting and checking. People at Precious Dental edit every page, check every source and figure themselves, and our implant surgeon reviews the medical content. Illustrations made with AI are labelled and contain no people.
