From the Gulf to Antalya for full-mouth implants

Readers in the Gulf have the shortest time difference of anyone outside Europe and, for GCC nationals, simple entry rules. Expatriates are a different story: your passport, not your residence card, decides how you enter Türkiye.

Short answer

According to Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (checked 24 October 2026), ordinary passport holders from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar are exempt from a visa for stays of up to 90 days, with slightly different wording for Qatar and Kuwait. Expatriate residents follow the rule for their own nationality; for several nationalities the MFA allows an e-Visa only with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, and a Gulf residence permit is not on that list. Antalya is on UTC+3, the same as Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait City and Manama.

Entry rules for GCC nationals (checked 24 October 2026)

We checked each Gulf country's entry on the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa page. For ordinary passports:

Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visa information for foreigners, checked 24 October 2026. Wording summarised; read the original before travelling.
NationalityWhat the MFA says for ordinary passports
United Arab EmiratesExempt from visa up to 90 days in any 180-day period
Saudi ArabiaExempt from visa up to 90 days in any 180-day period
OmanExempt from visa up to 90 days in any 180-day period
BahrainExempt from visa up to 90 days in any 180-day period
KuwaitExempt from visa for travel up to 90 days within the last 180 days
QatarExempt from visa for touristic travel and transit up to 90 days within six months from first entry

Türkiye's general passport rule applies too: validity of at least 60 days beyond your permitted stay, which is 150 days for a full 90-day stay. The MFA advises a passport valid for six months from arrival.

Visiting for treatment

The exemptions are general or, for Qatar, described for tourism and transit. Türkiye also has a "Medical Treatment Purposes" visa category, and its HealthTürkiye portal handles medical visa applications. Ask the Turkish embassy or consulate in your country which applies to a dental treatment visit before you book. We cannot give immigration advice.

Expatriate residents: your passport decides

Many people living in the Gulf are not GCC citizens. For you, the residence permit in your wallet usually makes no difference to Turkish entry. Look up your nationality on the MFA page. A few patterns from the page as it stood on 24 October 2026:

  • Western passports (for example US, Canadian, Irish, Australian, New Zealand and most European ones) are visa-exempt for short stays. See the guide for your country.
  • For several Asian and African nationalities that normally need a Turkish visa, the MFA says a one-month e-Visa is available to people holding a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, subject to conditions. A Gulf residence permit is not one of the documents named.
  • Some nationalities have extra conditions, such as age bands or named airlines, written into their entry. Read your own entry in full.

If you need a sticker visa, apply through the Turkish embassy or consulate where you live, and allow time. Use only the official evisa.gov.tr site for e-Visas; intermediary sites charge extra.

Getting to Antalya and the time difference

Gulf readers have a short trip compared with most readers of this library. Depending on the season and your city, there may be direct flights to Antalya Airport (AYT); otherwise most routes connect through Istanbul. Routes change, so check airline sites.

Türkiye keeps UTC+3 all year. That is the same as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, and one hour behind the UAE and Oman. Jet lag is not a factor, which makes it easier to arrive the day before surgery and keep to your normal sleep.

Precious Dental's package includes airport and clinic transfers and the hotel: 4 nights on the first visit and 5 on the second. Flights are not included. If a family member travels with you, ask us about room arrangements for a companion when you book.

Planning around surgery

The first visit is the surgical one, with fixed temporary teeth when the implants are stable enough; the second, a few months later, is for the final bridge. The timeline tool shows how the visits fall.

  • Bring your records: recent X-rays or a CBCT scan (sent ahead as files if you can), a medication list with doses, and letters about diabetes, heart conditions, blood thinners or bone medication. Treatment is planned from a 3D scan.
  • Diabetes: tell us your recent HbA1c result when you first get in touch. The risk factors page explains what studies report about diabetes and implants.
  • Fasting periods: if your trip falls during a fasting period, discuss medication timing, eating after surgery and hydration with the surgeon in advance.
  • Graft materials: if bone grafting may be needed, ask which material is planned and its origin. Some are synthetic, some are of animal origin. The glossary explains the terms.

Even on a four-hour flight, recent surgery adds to the risk of blood clots. The CDC lists surgery within the past three months as a risk factor and recommends moving about every one to two hours on long journeys.

Questions to settle before you book

Ask for your written plan first, then check the practical points: the surgery date and how many days you should stay afterwards, whether a companion can share your room, how payment is split between the two visits, and what happens if your implants need longer to heal before the final teeth. Write the answers down. Where something is not covered in your plan, ask us directly.

Money

Precious Dental sets its prices in pounds sterling. A fixed full arch on four implants per jaw is £6,000 ≈ €7,170 · US$8,020 for both jaws together; on six implants per jaw it is £6,500 ≈ €7,760 · US$8,690. The dollar figures use the ECB reference rate of 23 October 2026; the UAE dirham, Saudi and Qatari riyals, Bahraini dinar and Omani rial are pegged to the US dollar (the Kuwaiti dinar is managed against a basket of currencies), so the dollar figure is a good guide. The cost converter handles other amounts, and the price page lists what the packages include. Travel insurance that covers a treatment trip is worth having; read its wording on planned procedures.

Aftercare back home

Full-arch implant teeth need professional maintenance for as long as you have them. Choose a dentist licensed by your local health authority before you travel, for example through the Dubai Health Authority, the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Qatar's Ministry of Public Health, Bahrain's National Health Regulatory Authority or Oman's Ministry of Health.

  • Bring your implant passport and copies of your X-rays and scans. Precious Dental gives these to every implant patient so another dentist can identify the implant system and order compatible parts.
  • Send photos or X-rays on WhatsApp (+44 7575 589099) if you have a question; with no time difference to most of the Gulf, it is easy to talk during the working day.

Common questions

Do GCC citizens need a visa for Türkiye?

Not for ordinary passports and stays of up to 90 days, according to Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (checked 24 October 2026). Qatar's entry refers to touristic and transit travel of up to 90 days within six months; Kuwait's to 90 days within the last 180 days. Ask a Turkish embassy or consulate whether a treatment visit needs a different visa category.

I am an expatriate in Dubai. Can I get an e-Visa with my UAE residence?

That depends on your nationality, so check your own country's entry on the MFA visa page. For several nationalities, the MFA says an e-Visa is available to holders of a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit. A UAE or other Gulf residence permit is not on that list.

Is there a time difference?

None with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait or Bahrain, which share UTC+3 with Türkiye. The UAE and Oman are one hour ahead of Antalya.

Can I ask what bone graft material would be used?

Yes. If a graft is needed, ask which material is planned and where it comes from before treatment. Some grafts are synthetic and some are of animal origin, and you are entitled to know which.

Who maintains my implants when I am back home?

A dentist licensed by your health authority, for example the Dubai Health Authority, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Qatar's Ministry of Public Health or Bahrain's NHRA. Bring your implant passport and scan copies.
