From the United Kingdom to Antalya for full-mouth implants
This library is written for readers worldwide. If you live in the UK, we publish a separate guide built around UK patients, and you will probably find it more useful. Here are the official entry basics and where to go next.
According to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, a British citizen passport gets you visa-free tourist or business stays in Türkiye of up to 90 days within any 180; your passport needs 150 days of validity left on arrival plus a blank page; and anyone travelling for medical reasons is told to look at the visa rules (advice updated 19 October 2026, checked 24 October 2026). Our UK-focused guide is fullmouthimplantsturkey.co.uk.
Our UK-focused guide
Precious Dental publishes fullmouthimplantsturkey.co.uk for readers in the UK. It covers the trip from UK airports, how UK prices compare and how aftercare works with a UK dentist. This research library, by contrast, is written for an international audience and focuses on evidence, data, anatomy and materials, which apply wherever you live. Both are published by the same clinic, and both say so.
You are welcome to use both. The evidence library, the survival data and the glossary here are not UK-specific.
Entry rules for British citizens (checked 24 October 2026)
The FCDO's Turkey advice (updated 19 October 2026) says:
- Visa: British citizen passport holders need no visa for tourist or business trips adding up to 90 days in a rolling 180. Other types of British passport need a visa, and the FCDO says to check with the Turkish Embassy or Consulate General.
- Passport: valid for a minimum of 150 days beyond your arrival date, with a free page for stamps.
- Medical travel: to enter Turkey for education, employment or medical purposes, or in other special cases, the FCDO says to check the information on applying for a visa, and links to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Türkiye's own visa page matches the visa-free rule: British ordinary passport holders travelling for tourism are exempt for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Its general visa page lists "Medical Treatment Purposes" as a separate visa category. If you are unsure which applies to a dental treatment visit, ask the Turkish Embassy in London or a Consulate General before booking. We cannot advise on immigration.
What the FCDO says about medical tourism
The FCDO's health page for Turkey has a medical tourism section. It reports deaths of British nationals after medical procedures in Turkey during 2025, as well as cases where complications meant more treatment was needed. It advises discussing plans with your UK doctor or dentist first, doing your own research rather than relying only on companies with a financial interest, and checking the Turkish Ministry of Health's list of approved providers on the HealthTürkiye website.
We think that advice is right. Precious Dental is licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health and authorised for health tourism through Health Türkiye, and it is the publisher of this site, so weigh what we write with that in mind. Our complication data page sets out what published studies report.
Insurance
The European Commission's list of countries where the EHIC works does not include Türkiye. The UK Government's foreign travel insurance guidance explains what to look for in a policy. Many policies treat planned medical or dental treatment, and its complications, differently from accidents, so read the wording before you buy.
Price
Precious Dental's prices are set in pounds: a fixed full arch on four implants per jaw is £6,000 and on six implants per jaw £6,500, both jaws in total, with 4 + 5 hotel nights and transfers included and flights extra. Full details are on the price page.
Before you go
- Send a recent X-ray or CBCT scan for a written plan; treatment is planned from a 3D scan.
- Arrange a UK dentist who will see you for maintenance afterwards, and take your implant passport and scan copies to them. Precious Dental gives these to every implant patient.
- For questions between visits, send photos or X-rays on WhatsApp (+44 7575 589099).
Common questions
Do I need a visa to go to Turkey from the UK?
For tourism or business on a British citizen passport, no: the FCDO allows stays totalling 90 days within any 180 (checked 24 October 2026). Other types of British passport need a visa. The FCDO says people entering for medical purposes should check the information on applying for a visa.
How long must my passport be valid?
Per the FCDO, count 150 days forward from your arrival date: the passport must still be valid then, and one page must be empty.
Does a European Health Insurance Card work in Turkey?
No. The European Commission lists the countries where the EHIC is valid, and Türkiye is not one of them. Take out travel insurance and check what it says about planned treatment.
Where can I read about full mouth implants specifically for UK patients?
Our UK-focused guide, fullmouthimplantsturkey.co.uk, covers UK flights, UK costs for comparison and aftercare with a UK dentist. It is published by the same clinic, Precious Dental.
